GAUGE:
One Mitered Square = 6 x 6 in. (15 x 15 cm). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the
gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the
pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you less stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a
smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
NOTES:
1. Throw is made of 56 Mitered Squares joined into 7 rows of 8 squares each.
2. Mitered Squares are made by casting on 41 sts, then decreasing 2 sts on the first row and on every other
row.
3. Instructions are provided for the basic Mitered Square, with specific color combinations for Squares 1-4.
4. Completed Squares may not appear to be perfectly square. Sewing the Squares into strips will pull them
into shape.
